    Application

    This product is used as 1E-class circuit for the power configuration, control, testing, communications and instrument compensation of nuclear island factory building of nuclear power plant.

    Product description 

    Rated voltage(U0/U):0.6/1KV

    Max. permissible continuous operating temperature of conductor is 90°C, while for short circuit (no more than four seconds) the temperature is 250°C.

    The ambient temperature under installation is -10°C~40°C.

    The permissible bending radius under installation: 

    For Unshielded Cable: no less than 6 times of overall diameter 

    For shielded cable: no less than 8 times of overall diameter 

    Min. permissible ambient temperature under installation:  -40°C 

    Normal useful life: 50 years.

    Special properties of cable

    (1)The cable can undergo bundled burning test specified in GB/T18380.3 (IEC 332-3).

    (2)The insulated conductor of cable can undergo vertical burning test specified in GB/T18380.1 (IEC332-1).

    (3)The low smoke property of cable conforms to the regulations specified in GB/T 17651(IEC61034): light transmittance =60.

    (4)The low halogen property of cable conforms to regulations specified in GB/T 17650.2(IEC60754-2): PH=4.3,electrical conductivity<10µs/mm.

    (1)Cable can withstand the test of AC 3500V/5min without breakdown;

    (2)The resistivity of conductor?20 not more than 0.0172410O·mm²/m

    Specification

    Operational performance:

    1, During the normal operation of cables, the max permissible continuous operating temperature of conductor shall not exceed 90?

    2, The allowed max temperature of conductor in case of short-circuit(last no more than 5 seconds)not exceed 250?

    3, The allowed min. bending radius. During producing and installing is 25 times of overall diameter of the cable.

    4. The cable with aluminium sheath is suitable for no heavy corrsive situation and requiring to stand mechanical force. The cable with PVC out sheat is mainly applied in situation of demanding fire-proof and insulation of out sheat. The cable with PE outer sheath is mainly applied in high insulation required and cable directly into ground.

    5. Pre-heated is needed when 0'C during the cable laying.

    Conductor

    Conductors are made from electrolytic grade aluminium / copper conforming to IEC STANDARD, and are compact circular or compact shaped.

    Insulation

    XLPE insulated cables are specially made high grade cross-linked polyethylene for insulation by extrusion process.

    Core Identification


    Different colours identify the cores

    Laying up

    In multi-core cables, cores are laid up as per the above colour scheme, interstices are filled wherever necessary to make the laid up cores circular.

    Inner Sheath

    Laid up cores are bedded over with thermoplastic material for protection against mechanical and electrical damage.

    Armouring

    Armouring is provided over the inner sheath to guard against mechanical damage. Armouring is generally of galvanized steel wires or strips (In single core cables used in AC system armouring is by non-magnetic hard aluminum wires/strips). Round steel wires are used where the diameter over the inner sheath does not exceed 13mm. Above 13mm, flat steel strip armour is used. Round wire of different sizes can be provided against specific request.

    Outer Sheath

    Specially formulated heat resistant black PVC compound confirming to the requirement of Type ST-2 of IS:5831-1984, extruded to form the outer sheath. HMT XLPE offers a specially formulated Flame Retardant Low Smoke Compound(FRLS) for outer sheath used in fire hazardous environment.
